Briana Clah (Navajo) Score a game-high 18 points for Skyhawks who Edge Angelo State, 57-56

SAN ANGELO, Texas – November 24, 2017 – Kayla Herrera (Chippewa) scored a three-point play with eight seconds left in regulation to lift the No. 14 Fort Lewis College women’s basketball team to a 57-56 win at Angelo State University Friday afternoon.

The win improves the Skyhawks to 4-0 on the season.

Trailing 56-54, Herrera hit a jumper and was fouled with 0:08 left in the game and made the free throw to give FLC a 57-56 lead.  ASU was able to attempt two shot attempts in the final five seconds, but a block by Vivian Gray help to secure the Skyhawks perfect record.

Briana Clah (Navajo) came off the bench to lead both teams with 18 points.  Clah was clutch from the free throw line, making 7-of-8 attempts.

Astrea Reed added nine points and four assists.  Gray finished with a game high 12 rebounds, five blocked shots, four assists and two steals.

The Skyhawks made 34.5 percent from the floor (20-of-58), 30 percent from long distance (3-of-10) ad 73.7 percent from the free throw line (14-of-19).

FLC held Angelo State to a 29.3 field goal shooting mark (17-of-58) and 21.1 percent from long range (4-of-19).

The Skyhawks will face Texas A&M-Kingsville at 12:30 p.m. in San Angelo, Texas.
