SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Seniesha Sekaquaptewa (Hopi/Navajo) of the Eastern Nazarene College women’s basketball team was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week for the third consecutive week, announced the league office Monday.
Sekaquaptewa scored in double-figures in all three of the Lions’ games, helping the team post a 2-1 record on the week.
She poured in 13 points, grabbed five rebounds, and dished out a pair of assists as Eastern Nazarene cruised to a 63-33 victory at Wheelock.
Sekaquaptewa netted 10 points and hauled in five boards in the Lions’ 67-55 setback at Salve Regina.
She capped off the week with 14 points, five rebounds, and one assist in Eastern Nazarene’s 53-36 win at Wentworth.
This season, Sekaquaptewa leads the Lions and ranks seventh in the league with 13.9 points per game. She is also averaging 4.3 rebounds per game and 1.9 assists per contest on the year.
Sekaquaptewa owns the conference’s top shooting percentage from beyond the arc (50.0) and the second-highest field-goal percentage in the league (54.0) behind teammate Kayla Torio (Manteca, Calif.).
Eastern Nazarene returns to the hardwood to host Western New England in Commonwealth Coast Conference action December 5.
