Trey Jacobs (Coharie/Lumbee) Earns Spot On Peach Belt Conference All-Tournament Team

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The postseason accolades for University of North Carolina Pembroke third baseman Trey Jacobs (Coharie/Lumbee)continued to be plentiful on Sunday afternoon when the redshirt freshman was named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Tournament Team.

The Hope Mills product and South View High School graduate hit .462 (6-for-13) in three starts at third base for the Braves (38-13) to complement three extra-base hits (2 HR), 10 RBI and a pair of runs scored. His two-day stay at the Flagler-hosted event also included a sacrifice fly and a perfect fielding percentage in nine total defensive chances at the hot corner.

Jacobs earned second team all-conference honors on Thursday evening and became the first player in program history to collect PBC Freshman of the Year recognition. He is one of just two players (Seth Hartings) to start all 51 games for the Black & Gold this season and is hitting .419 (91-for-217) with 39 extra-base hits (11 HR), 76 RBI and 59 runs scored. He needs just one more double to match the PBC record for two-baggers.
