The Pima Community College women’s basketball team (2-1) played a tough match-up against a Division I opponent on Thursday to open play at the Eastern Arizona Classic in Thatcher, AZ.
- The No. 14 ranked Aztecs fell to Howard College (3-4) 71-64. The Aztecs were outscored 20-10 in the third quarter.
- Sophomore Jacqulynn Nakai (Navajo) scored a game-high 24 points to go along with six rebounds, five assists and two steals. Freshman Tyra Do went 8 for 10 from the field and finished with 16 points.
- Sophomore Shauna Bribiescas (Dobson HS) contributed with seven points, seven rebounds and four assists.
- The Aztecs outrebounded the Hawks 46-34 for the game.
The Aztecs will be right back on the court on Friday when they play Lower Columbia College at 1:00 p.m.
