Haskell Indian Nations University’s Alliyah Richards (Oglala/Ute) named a 2018 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete for Volleyball

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced Friday that 597 women’s volleyball student-athletes have been named 2018 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Representing Haskell Indian Nations University was junior Middle Hitter Alliyah Richards (Oglala/Ute) from Roosevelt, UT.

In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

She finished the 2018 season ranked 7 in Division I in Kills per Game (4.300) and ranked 11 in Division I in Total Kills (482).  

At Haskell, Alliyah, has played in 298 games where she has 942 kills, 331 digs and has 70 block solos & 93 block assists totaling 163 blocks combined.
