USAO Freshman Stephon Hall Mvskoke Creek) dropped a game-high 24 points against the No. 14 team in the nation

CHICKASHA, Okla. – The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (14-7, 7-6 SAC) suffered their second heartbreaking loss in the last three days, as they fell 70-73 to No. 14 Wayland Baptist University (16-5, 11-2 SAC). 

The Drovers started the game well, and led by as many as 5 just four minutes into the game. However, the Pioneers would bounce back and take over the lead for the rest of the first half. WBU would take a 40-32 lead into halftime, after leading by as many as 10 late in the half. The Drovers responded well after halftime, and the two conference foes would exchange the lead four times in the second half, but WBU was able to hold off USAO in the final minutes of the game. 

The Pioneers finished the game shooting .523 from the field and .444 from beyond the arch. Even though WBU shot the ball well, USAO was able to stay in the game by forcing 17 turnovers and by knocking down three’s (13-33 3-PT FG). 

Stephon Hall (Mvskoke Creek) continues to impress, as he scored a career-high for the third straight game. The Freshman from Oklahoma City, dropped a game-high 24 points against the No. 14 team in the nation. Hall also added 6 rebounds and a pair of assists to his stat line. Geno Artison (SR/Seattle, WA) finished the game with 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals. Artison had one of his best shooting performances from beyond the arch, going 3-5. Dispite getting into foul trouble, Dedrian Parmer(JR/Oklahoma City, OK) recorded 9 points and 4 rebounds. Greyden Steinmetz(SO/Ft. Cobb, OK) scored 6 points off the bench, including 2 three-pointers, while Clay Long (SR/Plain Dealing, LA) added 5 points for the Drovers. Tre’veon Ellis(FR/Oklahoma City, OK) turned in a strong performance off the bench, scoring 3 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and dished out a game-high 5 assists.
