STILLWATER—The Oklahoma State men’s basketball team dropped its fourth consecutive game Wednesday, as they lost to Texas Tech, 78-50, in Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Cameron McGriff earned his seventh-career double-double, putting up 18 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. He has now scored double digits in 11 of his last 14 games.
Lindy Waters III (Kiowa/Cherokee) also scored 12 points. Waters also grabbed three rebounds and assisted on two baskets.
Texas Tech (20-5, 8-4 Big 12) dominated the early goings and didn’t let up. The Red Raiders ended up shooting 52 percent from the floor and 48 percent from behind the 3-point line.
Texas Tech’s blazing first half saw them shoot 59 percent from the floor and 64 percent from 3-point land. The Red Raiders took a 21-point halftime lead, which is the second-largest halftime deficit for the Cowboys (9-15, 2-9) inside of Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Tanner Taylor, Gabriel Simpson (Cherokee) , Cade Wagner and Dee Mitchell all entered the game in the final minutes. Taylor scored three points and made one of his two 3-point attempts.
Tonight’s outcome was the second-largest defeat at home since 1934-35. It was also the seventh-worst loss in a Big 12 matchup for OSU.
