Kevin Miller is from the Ho-Chunk Nation of Winnebago, Nebraska. He is the son of Kevin Miller and Jessica Trevino of St. Paul, Minnesota.
Kevin is a three-sport athlete at Highland Park Senior High School in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Kevin Miller lived on the Ho-Chunk Nation in Winnebago, Nebraska as a young child into late elementary school grades. The family moved to the urban area of the twin cities.
“Kevin is a dedicated athlete, playing three sports,” said head football coach David Zeitchick. “In football he’s our defensive leader. He’s our quarterback on defense. Kevin’s also one of the toughest and hardest hitting players on the field each week. He’s a beast. As Kevin’s role has expanded so have his leadership skills.”
“I’ve been playing football in the middle line backer position for 9 years,” said Kevin. “My strengths are to really get the team pumped for games and put my heart out in the field. My team and I have had a rough start to the season but are now catching ground and looking forward to lots more wins from now on. I’m also a two year wrestler and a seven year baseball player. I love all of the sports I do equally and look forward to taking it to the next step, college. I’ve always had support from family to follow my dreams and do what I love. From down in Nebraska to here in Minnesota, they all believe that I can succeed and show the best support a family can show. I’d say mainly my mom and dad who have always pushed me to succeed even through hard times. Honestly wouldn’t have been able to be where I’m right now without them.”
“Kevin “Nico” Miller is a coaches dream,” said head wrestling coach Hunter Solem. “He is the most mentally tough self driven athlete I have ever met. He is the definition of leading by example. At the end of the most excruciating workouts during wrestling practice he is the type to smile at me and ask for more. Even in losses he keeps himself collected and moves on to focusing on improvement. He is always inclusive and brotherly towards his teammates and puts his family and friends above himself. Though he likes to joke around, he is one of the most humble people I have met. And always fearless no matter the opposition.”
“My son has a great heart and a bright future,” said Dad Kevin, Sr. “He plays with passion. He finds peace with nature and is a very respectful young man.”
