EWA BEACH, Hawaii – Freshman Aidan Thomas (Laguna Pueblo) skyrocketed up the individual leaderboard following his strong second round at the Hoakalei Country Club Invitational.
The Albuquerque, N.M., native fired a two-under-par 70 Tuesday, moving up 35 spots from yesterday’s position. He is tied for 40th at one-over-par 145 overall entering the third round.
Sophomore Cameron Gambini is right there with him at one-over-par 145, tying for 40th after a one-under-par 71 in Tuesday’s round. Senior Tanvir Kahlon and freshman Cole Grossl are a few shots back of them, as each are tied for 64th at four-over-par 148.
Freshman Scott Rescigno rounds out the Aggie fivesome at 12-over-par 159. He is tied for 104th through 36 holes of play.
NM State is in 16th place as a team at 10-over-par 586. Tomorrow’s final round tees off at noon MT.
