Ivory Miles-Williams (Nez Perce Tribe) scored a career-high 29 points in win over NCU

CALDWELL, Idaho – Ivory Miles-Williams (Nez Perce Tribe) came off the bench to score a career-high 29 points, leading the College of Idaho to their seventh-straight win, a 73-61 victory over Northwest Christian inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

The Coyotes (13-3, 6-0 CCC) held NCU 30 points below their scoring average, using a late 13-0 run to break open a close game.

NCU (8-7, 3-2) pulled within 58-53 on a Stevie Schlabach baseline lay-up with seven minutes remaining – but the Beacons turned the ball over on three consecutive possessions – all turning into C of I baskets. Miles-Williams converted on the block and added a pair of free throws to extend the lead to nine, before Derek Wadsworth canned a transition 3-pointer to push the margin to double-digits for the first time on the evening.

Miles-Williams added a turn around runner and followed with an alley-oop dunk, before Nate Bruneel capped the rally with a tip-in, giving the hosts a 71-53 edge with just under three minutes to play.

C of I spotted the visitors a 5-0 lead in the first five minutes, before Miles-Williams scored nine points and Talon Pinckney added five in a 14-3 run to take the lead. The Coyotes led 35-28 with 90 seconds left in the period, before Ernest Ugoagu drained a jumper, Schlabach scored on a put-back and Logan Davis splashed a triple at the horn to get NCU even at the half.

The Beacons could not keep the rally in the second half, as the Yote defense held the club to just 30-percent shooting from the field.

Miles-Williams made 12-of-17 field goals, adding five rebounds and two blocks in the victory, with Talon Pinckney adding eight points, eight assists, five rebounds and five steals. C of I had a 38-30 rebound edge and forced 17 turnovers.
