The Bulldogs hung with the 18th ranked Oregon State Beavers for 20 minutes. Even holding a lead for a couple of minutes in the second quarter, before falling 88-54 to the Beavers in an exhibition game Saturday afternoon. The undersized Bulldogs used a potent outside attack to stun the heavily favored Beavers early on. Oregon State regrouped at the half and stormed out of the locker room with a vengeance, pounding the ball inside and using their length to alter shots and force turnovers to pull away with the big win.
Top Performers
- Jenni Weber scored a team-high 12 points. She grabbed four rebounds and had two assists.
- Lilly Gopher (Chippewa/Cree) scored 11 points and three assists.
- Brynley Fitzgerald scored nine points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal.
- Taylor Jones scored a game-high 24 points on 10-13 shooting. She added nine rebounds and a block for Oregon State.
- Aleah Goodman scored 12 points, six assists and five steals for the Beavers.
Coach Woolley’s Thoughts
“Their length and athleticism really bothered us. I thought our execution was pretty good at times on the offensive end. I’m really proud of our effort and I know our kids were excited to finally play a game.”
