DURANT, Okla. – The East Central University women’s basketball team outscored Southeastern Oklahoma State 23-7 in the second quarter and continued to push the tempo for a 73-47 victory at Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
Scoring

- The teams traded shots in the first three minutes for a 5-all tie
- The Savage Storm (1-1, 1-1 GAC) then went on a 6-0 run over the next two minutes to gain the lead
- The Tigers (1-1, 1-1 GAC) countered with a 7-2 run to cut the deficit to one (13-12), with 18 seconds left
- SEOSU hit two free throws with one second left to build the lead back to three

- The difference remained within three points for the first two minutes
- ECU then took control, with a 17-2 run, in the remaining time to take the lead into the half

- The Tigers built the lead out to as many 21 (51-30), with four minutes left in the stanza
- ECU kept the advantage around 20 for the rest of the quarter
- 4th Quarter: 15-8 (73-47)
- The Tigers kept the momentum on their side and pushed the lead out to as many as 27
