Indiahoma High School (Oklahoma), whose student body is majority Comanche and Kiowa tribal members, took their #13 State ranking and 7-2 record into the Best of the Southwest Basketball Tournament and exited with a 10-2 record and Championship Title.
Indiahoma eked out a victory over another predominantly Indian public school, Carnegie High School, by a score of 53-51 in the title game. Tdohasan Sunray (Kiowa/Ponca/MOWA Choctaw) received the Tournament MVP award. The 6’3 combo guard is averaging 17 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals, 3.5 assists and 1 block per game during the first 12 games of the season, while shooting 50% from the field and 43% from three.
