SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The University of Hawai’i men’s basketball team continued to roll with a 69-56 win over Cal Poly Saturday night at the Mott Athletics Center. The Rainbow Warriors improved to 9-5 overall and 4-0 in the Big West with their fifth straight win.

UH is off to its best Big West start since the 2015-16 season and remains one of only two undefeated teams in the conference, along with Cal State Fullerton, also at 4-0. The Rainbow Warriors have notched three straight Big West road wins and have won seven of the their last eight Big West regular-season games dating back to last season.

The ‘Bows, who led from wire to wire, used another stellar defensive effort to secure its first win at Cal Poly (4-12, 1-4) since 2017. UH held the Mustangs to just 33 percent shooting for the game, including a key six-minute scoreless stretch in the second half. Cal Poly made just 7-of-26 shots (27 percent) after the break. UH has held its last four opponents to under 60 points.

Offensively, the ‘Bows were led by its front court of Bernardo da SilvaJerome Desrosiers and Kamaka Hepa who each scored in double-digits.  Da Silva finished with 14 points and eight rebounds, Desrosiers had 12 points and six rebounds, and Hepa added 11 points and five rebounds.
