Shauna Bribiescas (Navajo) had a game high 14 points for Rocky Mountain College in Win over Montana Tech

BILLINGS, Mont., February 26, 2022- The Battlin’ Bears defended home court in the 2021-22 Frontier Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament. The Rocky women were in control all game, and went on to win 71 to 39. The Battlin’ Bears are now 25-4, 12-3 on the year.
 
Rocky was led on offense by Shauna Bribiescas (Navajo), who had a game high 14 points, five rebounds, one assist, and two steals. Mackenzie Dethman and Dom Stephens both scored 13 and combined for 10 rebounds. N’ Dea Flye added 12 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and four steals. The Battlin’ Bears shot 40.9 percent from the field, 39.1 percent from the arc, and 53.3 percent from the line.
 
Montana Tech (13-19, 3-12) was led by Soda Rice and Tavia Rooney with 10 points apiece. Rooney also had 10 rebounds, to finish with a double double. The Orediggers shot 28.3 percent from the field, 41.7 percent from deep, and 50 percent from the charity stripe.
 
Rocky had 12 points off turnovers to the Orediggers’ three points. Rocky had 24 points in the paint, and Tech had 16 points. Rocky had two turnovers and 12 steals on the day.
 
The Battlin’ Bears host the Frontier Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament Championship on First Interstate Bank Court in the Fortin Education Center Tuesday, March 1 at 7 p.m. against Carroll College
