NDNSports BRIEF: Jacoby Ellsbury had a nice night at the plate on Tuesday in a rain-shortened 4-1 victory over the Tigers, going 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base.
Ellsbury drew a critical bases-loaded walk off Justin Verlander as the rain was pouring down in the fourth inning, giving the Red Sox a 2-1 lead at the time. The Red Sox outfielder also swiped a base for the second consecutive game. He’s hitting .304 (21-for-69) with a homer, three RBI and three stolen bases since returning from the disabled list and could be highly valuable in fantasy leagues down the stretch.
The Redsox continue with the Tigers tonight before hosting the Twins on Thursday.
