by ATLANTA, Ga. – Shantashia John (Mississippi Choctaw) continues to rack up awards in the Collegiate Conference of the South as she was named the CCS Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season following her on-court performances over the past week.
In a week that the Blazers went 1-1, John continued to show her scoring prowess averaging 20 points per game over the stretch, the leading mark for Belhaven. In the two game stretch John also averaged 4.0 rebounds per game, 4.0 steals and 3.0 assists as the Blazers improved to 4-2 on the season.
In the Blazers’ win on the road at Pensacola Christian College the freshman finished with a game-high 28 points and played all 40 minutes. John shot 6-11 from three and 10-22 from the field while posting five rebounds, five assists and five steals.
