IOUX FALLS, S.D. — North Dakota sophomore guard Treysen Eaglestaff captured his second Summit League Men’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week honor of the season, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Eaglestaff scored a career-high 28 points in leading the Fighting Hawks to a 19-point road win at Utah Tech and helping UND notch a 2-0 week and improve to 8-4 overall. As a team, the Fighting Hawks have five wins over Division I programs, tied for the most among Summit League schools with St. Thomas.
In the win over the Trailblazers, Eaglestaff buried a career-high six 3-pointers and went 9-for-17 from the field to go along with a pair of rebounds and two steals as he registered his fourth 20-plus point game of the campaign. The Bismarck, N.D. native had 13 points in the opening half that saw UND build a 40-21 lead at the break.
Eaglestaff went 9-for-17 (52.9) from beyond the arc in a pair of UND wins last week that pushed their victory total to a Summit League-best eight in non-conference play.
