During the opening quarter the Vikings used 11 points from Jordana Reisma to gain a 19-13 lead after 10 minutes of play, before extending this lead to 21-13 in the opening minute of the second quarter on a Kali Howard jumper. The two teams then traded baskets over the next few possessions, until a 6-0 CSU run put the Vikings up by 10 points at the 34-24 mark on a Mya Moore jumper at the 2:35 mark.
The Vikings then closed out the second frame on a 6-2 run – with all six points coming from Mickayla Perdue – taking a 40-26 lead into the halftime break.
A pair of baskets from Reisma and Perdue to open the third quarter extended Cleveland State’s advantage to 44-26, while a Macey Fegan layup off a Perdue steal a few plays later gave the Vikings a 20-point lead at 51-31.
The Vikings continued their momentum with a Destiny Leo three-pointer 30-seconds later to put the score at 54-31, and then controlled play throughout the rest of the frame to take a 71-44 lead into the final 10 minutes of action.
Cleveland State then used a dominant 23-8 fourth quarter, closing out the 94-52 victory
