I saw this picture on Kernit Grimshaw’s timeline the other day and I guess I thought cool picture but didn’t read all of the fine print associated with the picture.
So, I’m going through the Maxpreps website this early afternoon and I scroll down through the scoring stats. Hmmm, Eireann Grimshaw with 22. Way down below I see someone had 21 points and I thought, hmmmmm, I wonder if Stevie or Allison had a big night also.
Racquel Colombe 21 points, 8-10 shooting and 5-6 made 3-pointers.
My first thought was who the hell is Racquel Colombe, well not really but I’m a little irritated I missed that Rocky Colombe banged home a career high 21 points.
It’s been fun following the Lady Falcons this year as they improved to 14-0 on the season with wins over Little Wound and Crow Creek. Often-times when I’m writing a story, I refer to the big-three from Todd County as Eireann, Stevie and Allison are all having great seasons.
Sometimes I regret using that term because in order to have a great team you need a lot of functioning parts that are all pulling their weight.
I love how far Raven Patton has come this year. She’s a threat and she blocks shots and hustles.
I love that Darien Quick Bear has come aboard this team and maybe sacrificed personal stats to be part of something special. Love, love, love her contribution to the team.
Then I see 21 points from Rocky Colombe and I just think adding another weapon to an already uber-talented teams just makes these Lady Falcons so much tougher.
Shut down one of the big three and I’m pretty confident one of the big-12 will step up and replace them. (If Mike Hammer reads this, the reference to the Big-12 was all of the girls on the Todd County team not the conference for which he cheers for)
Keep working girls…Go get it!
P.S. – Tell Nina (Cheese Pizza) I said hello!
