Native American basketball players, Angel Goodrich (University of Kansas) and Shoni Schimmel (University of Louisville), will play in the 2012 NCAA March madness tournament with their respective teams it was announced today by the NCAA selection committee.
Kansas was selected as a #11 seed and will face Nebraska in the first around at 6:30 PM in Little Rock, Arkansas which is not to far where Angel played her high school games at across the border in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. This marks the first appearance for Goodrich in the NCAA tourney and the first since 2000 for the Jayhawks.
Louisville was selected as a #7 seed and will face Michigan State in College Park, Maryland on Saturday. This will mark the second straight appearance for Schimmel in the NCAA tourney and will also mark the first appearance for younger sister Jude Schimmel who is a Freshman on the squad as well.
