(Lawrence, KS) – Haskell Indian Nations University men’s and women’s basketball teams will partner with Nike N7 this month to celebrate Native American Heritage month. Among the colleges selected, Haskell was the only tribal college among the other universities from the NCAA.
Nike N7 is proud to partner with these eight colleges to honor Native American Heritage Month. During selected men and women’s basketball games throughout November and into December, Nevada, Oklahoma State, Florida State, San Diego State, Gonzaga, New Mexico, Stanford and Haskell Indian Nations University (the only all-native school in the country) will each wear N7-inspired turquoise uniforms. Turquoise represents harmony, friendship and fellowship in Native American culture.
The uniforms also complement the Nike N7 Power of Perseverance Collection, recognizing the movement of sport on Native lands and driving awareness of Native American culture. The collection includes men and women’s basketball and running apparel and footwear, as well as the collaborative KD8 N7 with NBA star Kevin Durant.
The schedule of teams wearing the Nike N7 turquoise uniforms is as follows:
November 13: Oklahoma State (Men’s)
November 14: Nevada (Men’s Rainbow Classic)
November 17: Florida State (Men’s)
November 18: San Diego State (Men’s)
November 18: Gonzaga (Men’s)

i am part Native American (Ojiba, Wisconsin). I am very proud that Haskel is included. It went from a boarding school to an accredited university. Some of my family attended there in the earlier years. Glad there is finally a Native American month.
So excited that Nike is doing this for the Native American Heritage Month. My daughter goes to Haskell, Southern Cheyenne-Arapaho.
