University of Wisconsin seniors Bronson Koenig (Ho-Chunk Nation) and Nigel Hayes were both named to the Lute Olson Award Preseason Watch List, which was announced on Monday.
The award is presented annually to the nation’s top Division I player who has played at least two seasons. The recipient of the award will be announced at the CollegeInsider.com awards banquet on April 31 in Phoenix.
Last year Hayes averaged a team-high 15.7 points along with 5.8 rebounds per game. Koenig averaged 13.1 points per game and made a team-best 83 3-point field goals. Each started all 35 games the Badgers played.
Other Big Ten players on the list include Indiana’s James Blackmon, Jr. and Thomas Bryant, Iowa’s Peter Jok and Maryland’s Melo Trimble.
