Alie Jimerson (Cayuga) Named America East Conference Rookie of the Week

BOSTON, MASS. – University at Albany freshman attack Alie Jimerson (Cayuga Nation) had five goals and nine assists in three games to earn America East Women’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week honors, the conference office announced on Monday.

Jimerson notched two assists at home against Dartmouth at home last Monday; followed by a career-best seven point performance at Binghamton on Friday. The freshman had three goals and four assists against the Bearcats in a 17-5 victory, good for the highest in-conference single-game point total to date in the league.

Against No. 9 Syracuse on Sunday, Jimerson scored two goals to go with three assists. She was second in the conference among freshmen with 4.67 points per game last week, and ranks tied for sixth nationally in assists per game with 2.27. Along with Oregon’s Cambi Cukar, the pair is the top rookie assist duo in Division I women’s lacrosse.
