Angel Goodrich (Cherokee Nation) Scores 18 Points for Polands AZS Gorzow Club Team

MUKS Poznan’s fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski (1-3) 75-69. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-16. But AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski won third quarter 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. MUKS Poznan made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Cierra Joenell Robertson-Warren (193, college: Louisville) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and international Agnieszka Skobel (180-89) who added 16 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American center Kelley Cain (198-89, college: Tennessee) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and her fellow American import guard Angel Goodrich (Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma)  scored 18 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MUKS Poznan left bottom position moving up to seventh place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski. It was AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski’s third loss in a row. MUKS Poznan will play against Sosnowiec (#11) on the road in the next round. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski will play against Gdynia (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
