Aniya Johnson scored the first two baskets for NMHU in extra time before Aragon’s game winning field goal.
“What a big win for our team,” said Head Coach Lindsey Fearing. “10 years is a long time to not get a win against a team. We had a lot of different people step up today. I’m just a proud coach!”
Three Cowgirls scored in double figures led by Juliana Aragon’s 22 points. Aniya Johnson scored 21 points while Aspen Salazar had 13. Aragon had a game high seven assists and Johnson had a team high seven rebounds.
For the second consecutive game the Cowgirls shot 50% from the floor going 30 for 60 against the Orediggers.
