TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona Women’s Basketball has added Noelani Cornfield, a high-impact guard and Mid-American Conference (MAC) All-Defensive Team honoree, to the 2025–26 roster. Cornfield reunites with head coach Becky Burke after a standout 2024–25 season at the University at Buffalo.
Cornfield earned postseason honors for the first time in her collegiate career after being named to the MAC All-Defensive Team. A native of Gowanda, N.Y., she was a constant defensive presence for the Bulls, regularly drawing the assignment of the opponent’s top scorer. She ranked second in the MAC in steals per game (2.6) and second in both assists per game (5.9) and total assists (212) — marks that also placed her in the top 25 nationally.
She averaged 10.9 points, 5.9 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.6 steals per game while shooting 45.3 percent from the field, helping lead Buffalo to a program-record 30 wins and a WNIT Championship.
Before joining Buffalo, Cornfield spent two seasons at Southern Miss, where she appeared in 59 games and led the team in steals in 2022–23 while shooting 39.6 percent from three-point range.
She began her college career at Northwest Florida State College, starting 25 games as a sophomore and averaging 6.8 points and 3.5 assists per game on 46.3 percent shooting from the floor and 41.8 percent from beyond the arc.
With experience across multiple levels and a well-rounded skill set, Cornfield brings veteran savvy and elite defensive credentials to the Wildcats’ backcourt as they prepare for their second season in the Big 12.
