Ashley Beatty (Caddo/Lakota) has Career-High 15 Points in ORU’s 61-59 Win over IPFW

TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women’s basketball team won its fourth straight game by holding off a late rally from IPFW Saturday afternoon for a 61-59 victory at the Mabee Center.

The Golden Eagles pushed their winning streak to four games in a game that saw 10 lead changes and four ties. However, ORU led for more than 29 minutes while playing with a short bench and more importantly held off the Mastodons to seal The Summit League win.

Freshman Ashley Beatty (Caddo/Lakota/Gros Ventre) paced ORU with a career-high 15 points while Faith Ihim tallied a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards.

IPFW got a game-high 19 points from Kamilah Carter who had a jumper with rim out with six seconds left that would have given the ‘Dons the lead. However, the shot rimed out and ORU held on for the win.

TURNING POINT
ORU missed a pair of free throws with 16 seconds left and a one point lead as IPFW called a timeout with 12 seconds left in the game after pulling down the rebound. A jumper from Carter for IPFW bounced long with six seconds left as ORU secured the rebound and the win.

Oral Roberts: Ashley Beatty finished with 15 points and three steals while Faith Ihim added 10 points and 11 rebounds.
IPFW: Kamilah Carter scored 19 points and three rebounds.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
– ORU held IPFW to 36 percent shooting from the field as it was the first time in three games an opponent shot above 30 percent.
– The Golden Eagles shot a season-best 46 percent from behind the three-point line going 6-of-13. Jordan Doyle was 3-of-5 from behind the arc and has made eight three-pointers in her last three games.
– All seven players that saw action for ORU scored in Saturday’s game.
– Faith Ihim posted her third double-double of the season and fourth of her career.
