Atlanta Dream Announces 2016 Preseason Schedule Games; Shoni Schimmel to Play in Connecticut & Los Angeles

-Preseason ledger highlighted by two games at Mohegan Sun, home game vs. Los Angeles-

ATLANTA (March 3, 2016) — The Atlanta Dream will play a total of four preseason games as a tune up for the 2016 regular season, it was announced Thursday.

The Dream will play three of those four contests outside of Atlanta, with the lone local preseason game on Tuesday, May 10 vs. the Los Angeles Sparks.  The game will be played at Georgia Tech’s Hank McCamish Pavilion in a 7 p.m. ET tip and will feature a postgame autograph session with all Dream players.

Atlanta will open the preseason schedule with a trip to Connecticut for a pair of games at Mohegan Sun Arena on May 4 and 5.  The Dream will open the two-game set with a meeting against San Antonio on Wednesday, May 4 (5 p.m.) before facing Chicago on Thursday, May 5 (5 p.m.).

The Dream will then head west to battle the Sparks in Los Angeles on Saturday, May 7.  Time and location for that contest will be announced in the coming days.

The Dream will open the 2016 regular season at the San Antonio Stars on Saturday, May 14.  Atlanta’s home opener at Philips Arena will take place on Sunday, May 22 vs. the Chicago Sky in a 3 p.m. ET tip.  Training camp begins on April 23.

The three-time Eastern Conference Champion Atlanta Dream is entering its ninth season in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).

The Dream plays their home games at Philips Arena.  Atlanta has qualified for the playoffs six times, winning conference titles in 2013, 2011 and 2010.
