Juniors Bethany Baldwin (Potawatomi) and Natalie Bartle scored in double figures as the Finlandia University women’s basketball team (4-8) lost 76-44 to NCAA Division II #24 Michigan Tech (10-2), Saturday night at the SDC Gymnasium.
Michigan Tech got off to a 5-0 lead after one minute. Bartle hit a tough shot in the paint to make it 5-2 at the 8:45 mark. The Huskies scored 10 straight points to seal the game.
FinnU pulled down 23 defensive rebounds to 10 for MTU. The Lions forced the Huskies to turn the ball over 19 times, their highest total this season.
For Finlandia, Bartle had 24 points, eight rebounds and four steals while Baldwin scored 11 points.
