CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The National Golf Coaches Association has announced the 2011-12 student-athlete and coaches awards for Division II Women’s Collegiate Golf. Western New Mexico University women’s golfer, juniors Faylyn Beyale (Navajo) was named to the All-Region Central Team.
Beyale from Fruitland, N.M., had one of the best seasons around, being named the RMAC Golfer of the Year. She tied for the top spot at the NCAA Division II Women’s Super Region #3 in Elephant Butte and claimed two regular season wins in conference action. She tallied a 79.19 scoring average through the Super Region, which included 24 birdies and an average par of 9.76. She tallied an overall score of 456 which was 18-strokes better than second-place teammate Raymond throughout the regular season. Beyale was the winner of the RMAC #1 hosted by CCU shooting a 147 and RMAC #3 hosted by Chadron State with a 155, as she was co-champion with teammate Estrada.
