Brady Fairbanks Earns Conference Honors

Haskell Indian Nations University Senior, Brady Fairbanks (Bena, Minn.) earned the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year, First Team All-Conference, and is a conference nominee for NAIA All-America.

In the 2011-2012 season, Fairbanks posted 20.89 points, 7.15 rebounds, and 1.35 steals per game.  In the points category, Fairbanks led the conference, and is 8th in the nation in points per game.  Fairbanks has a total of 6 national rankings, including a 14th spot in defensive rebounds per game, and a 17th spot in 3-pt field goals made per game.

In two games this season Fairbanks scored over 40 points, 43 against Central Christian and 41 points against Central Baptist.   Fairbanks also posted five double-doubles, and earned three conference Player of the Week honors.

Honorable Mention for Trey Osborne

Haskell Indian Nations University, Junior guard Trey Osborne earned Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference recognition as a Honorable Mention.  Osborne is the second men’s basketball player to be recognized by the MCAC coaches, Brady Fairbanks was also honored earlier today.

Osborne (Bartlesville, Okla.) leads the Indians in the assist category with 2.45 per game, and is 10th in conference assists.  For the 2011-2012 Season, Osborne finished with 276 points, and a stellar performance versus Ottawa on November 15th.  Against the Braves, Osborne was 70% on 7 of 10 for his two-point attempts, 75% with 3 of 4 shots falling from behind the three point arc, and was perfect from the line on 8 of 8 shooting.  Osborne finished the season second in scoring at 9.5 per game, and second in steals at 33 for the year.
