DURANGO – June 30, 2016 – Fort Lewis College head women’s basketball coach Jason Flores announced the addition of seven Skyhawks to the program. The spring signing class features five transfer students and six guards – Taylor Blue (Pima Community College, guard/forward), Briana Clah (Mesa Community College, guard), Caitlin Duree (Morrisville State College, guard), Alannah Forde (Nowra High School, guard), Shelby Patterson (Otero Junior College, guard), Kaitlyn Romero (Espanola Valley High School, guard) and Natalie Stilwell (Mesa Community College forward).
“This is a great class to add to our returning roster as well as our early signees,” said Flores. “We wanted to bring in good players with experience and be able to mix that with some talented incoming freshman. We cannot wait to have everyone on campus and be able to get to work with them.”
Briana Clah (Navajo Nation) earned ACCAC All-Region first team and ACCAC Division 2 first team honors at Mesa Community College, where she competed in basketball for the past two years.
Clah is a 2014 graduate of Many Farms High School in Many Farms, Ariz. She garnered Division 3 first team and Division 3 Section 1 first team honors her senior year. Clah was named the Navajo Times and the Division 3 Section 1 Player of the Year, as well as a Navajo Times all-star. A member of the National Honor Society, Clah graduated in the top 10 of her class.
“Briana is a versatile guard with a great skill set,” said Flores. She can shoot the ball well, and she played point guard this year for a great program at Mesa CC.”
