DURANGO, Colo. – February 11, 2017 – Three Skyhawks scored in double figures Saturday night as the Fort Lewis College women’s basketball team handed Colorado Mesa University a 77-50 setback in Whalen Gymnasium.
FLC improves to 18-6 on the season and 13-6 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
Briana Clah hit 5-of-9 field goals including 4-of-5 from long distance and 8-of-10 from the charity stripe to finish with a game high 22 points. Clah added a career high eight rebounds to go with four assists.
Kayla Herrera made 7-of-14 field goals as part of her 21 points. She added six steals, seven rebounds and two dimes.
Alyssa Yocky contributed 16 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Yocky made 5-of-9 field goals and 5-of-6 free throws.
FLC led for almost 36 minutes and trailed the game for less than two minutes. The Skyhawks pulled down 14 more rebounds than the Mavericks, 46-32.
Fort Lewis will play a single game next week when they host Colorado School of Mines on Friday, Feb. 17. The game will be broadcast on Altitude 2 and Comcast.
