Briana Clah (Navajo) Scores a Game-High 23 points as Fort Lewis Wins 86-76 at Colorado Christian University

AKEWOOD, Colo. – January 28, 2017 –The Fort Lewis College women’s basketball team recorded their second best shooting performance of the season Saturday afternoon to post an 86-76 win at Colorado Christian University.  With the win, FLC improves to 15-5 overall and 10-5 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

The Skyhawks made 28-of-57 field goals for a 49.1 field goal shooting percentage, to go with their second best three-point field goal shooting mark this season, 46.7 percent (7-of-15).

The 86 points are the second most scored by FLC this season, one week after notching a season high 92 points against Chadron State College at home.

Alyssa Yocky netted 16 pints and grabbed 14 rebounds for her sixth double-double this season.

Briana Clah (Navajo) led all scorers with 23 points.  Clah hit on 8-of-13 field goals and 5-of-7 three-point field goals while adding three assists.

Kayla Herrera chipped in 17 points and added eight caroms and two dimes.

All 10 of Shelby Patterson‘s points came from the charity stripe where she was good on all 10 attempts.  She tallied three steals, two blocked shots and two assists.

FLC out-rebounded the Cougars, 41-34, and dominated in the paint, netting 32 points to the Cougars 18 points.

Fort Lewis will travel to New Mexico Highlands University next Friday, followed by Saturday’s game at Colorado State-Pueblo.
