Brittany Brownotter (Standing Rock Sioux) Claims Individual Title and Leads NDSU to its Fourth Straight Team Championship at the UND Ron Pynn Classic

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Brittany Brownotter (Standing Rock Sioux) claimed the individual title and led the North Dakota State women’s cross country team to its fourth straight team championship at the UND Ron Pynn Classic on Saturday afternoon at Ray Richards Golf Course.

The Bison won the Division I team title with a perfect score of 15, as NDSU’s top five runners crossed the finish line before the top runner from North Dakota.

NDSU has won the UND Ron Pynn Classic each year since 2012.

Brownotter, a redshirt freshman from Bismarck, N.D., finished with a personal-best time of 17:34.3 for the five-kilometer course. Bison junior Taylor Janssen was the runner-up in a personal-best 17:48.3.

Sophomore Jenny Guibert placed third for NDSU in a personal-best 18:36.5, and freshmen Kayla Huhnerkoch (18:39.4) and Emma Kusch Dahle (18:40.1) were fourth and fifth, respectively, to complete the perfect score for the Bison.

The Summit League Championships are up next for NDSU, scheduled for Oct. 31 in Brookings, S.D.
