Canzas Hisbadhorse (Cheyenne) had a Career High 14 Points as Williston State Wins over Central Wyoming

The Tetons scored the first bucket of the game and never trailed thereafter as they rolled over Central Wyoming by the score of 68-58.

The Tetons jumped out to a 27-13 lead at the end of the first quarter and kept a double digit lead throughout.

Irene de la Fuente led all scorers with 16 points going 8 for 9 from the field. Canzas Hisbadhorse turned in her best performance of the year by scoring 14 points. Hayley Macdonald finished with 10 while Kelsey Crossan and Yasmin Butler each contributed 7. Kylee Old Elk chipped in with 5, Sydney Labatte had 4, and Elizabeth Field and Breanna Old Elk had 2 each. Labatte was the games leading rebounder with 10.

“This was a good game for us in a sense that we built up a 20 point lead and everyone on our roster logged some playing time”, stated Coach Triplett. “I thought Canzas and Fu (de la Fuente) played exceptionally well and Syd was her normal self again as she yanked down 10 boards”.

The Tetons have a few days off for some family time and will return to action next Tuesday when they host United Tribes at 5:30 pm.

  1. Congratulations!
I wish NDN basketball got national TV coverage. From what I have seen and read about, it is some of the most exciting basketball in the country. My niece played basketball on a college scholarship and now coaches at her former high school. She was pretty amazing for a short Latina point guard. I find more artfulness in the women’s game which is less about height and more about skill
