RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Sprts Officials have named Chelsey BIegler its 2015 Female College Athlete of the Year. The former Rapid City Central High School star and former Rapid City Sports officials High School Athlete of the Year, was honored Monday night at the Rapid City Hall of Fame and Sports Recognition Banquet.
Biegler averaged 11.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game as a senior. Her points per game led the Yellow Jackets while her assists ranked second on the team and rebounds third.
She ended her career ranked eighth all-time at BHSU with 1,323 points and all-time leader in made free throws at 408. She ended her career shooting at a 79.1 percent clip from the charity stripe, which also ranks eighth all-time.
Biegler, a three-time First Team All-Conference selection from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, was honored with the likes of former Major League Baseball player Mark Ellis and former WNBA State, and current assistant coach with the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs, Becky Hammon, who were inducted into the Rapid City Sports Hall of Fame.
