by (Associated Press) — Chris Wondolowski (Kiowa Tribe) scored twice and Alan Gordon added a goal in a 10-minute span midway through the second half to help the San Jose Earthquakes beat the Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1 on Saturday.
San Jose improved to 4-1, while Vancouver dropped to 2-1-2.
Wondolowski tied it at 1 in the 68th minute, Gordon gave the Earthquakes the lead in the 72nd, and Wondolowski completed the scoring in the 78th with his sixth goal of the season.
