ASHLAND – Majerle Reeves drilled seven 3-pointers to score 21 points and lead seven players in double figures for third-ranked Southern Oregon, which was a 114-71 winner over Warner Pacific on Sunday afternoon at Mountain Avenue Gym.
The Raiders (21-1 overall, 14-0 Cascade Conference), who brought their win streak to 21, had a 57-5 advantage in bench points over the undermanned Knights (4-20, 2-12), who only had six players available for the third game in a row.
Freshman reserve Daranda Hinkey (Shoshone-Paiute) had 15 points and five assists, and Toria Bradford added 10 points, eight assists and five steals – giving her 16 steals on the weekend.
The Raiders shot 55 percent from the floor (40-of-73) while posting their third-highest point total and second-most assists (34) of the season. They shot 6-of-10 on 3-pointers in the first quarter, jumping out to a 31-15 lead, and finished 15-of-36 from deep.
The Raiders scored the first 13 points of the second quarter in two-and-a-half minutes and went on a 17-5 run over the first four minutes of the third quarter. Demi Salinger scored eight of her 12 points during the third-quarter spurt.
SOU’s Casey Williams recorded 12 points, six rebounds and five assists; Autumn Durand had 14 points, six assists and five rebounds; and Sydney Mullings had 13 points, four steals and four rebounds.
Bailey Allen’s 21 points, five steals and four assists paced the Knights. Darbi Pink went 4-of-6 from downtown for 16 points and Kyeli Hendryx had 17.
The Raiders are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Klamath Falls to take on second-place and 25th-ranked Oregon Tech (19-5, 12-2), which has won seven straight and owns a 9-1 record at Danny Miles Court. Tip is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
