CLAREMORE, Okla. – Defending NCAA Division II National Champion Rogers State softball has added Division I transfer Sara Llamas-Howell (Pawnee) for the 2022-23 season, Head Coach Andrea Vaughan announced on Wednesday.
A native of Pawnee, Okla., Llamas-Howell arrives on the Hill after three successful seasons as a right-handed pitcher at NCAA Division I Tulsa. In her time with the Golden Hurricane, she appeared in 39 games with 10 starts and posted a 4.72 ERA in 86.0 innings pitched with 40 strikeouts. Her best performance for TU came at Louisiana Tech last season as she went 5.2 innings out of the bullpen with five strikeouts and allowed only one earned run in the 8-7 victory over the Lady Techsters.
Prior to joining the Golden Hurricane, Llamas-Howell was a four-year letterwinner at Pawnee High School where she helped lead the Lady Bears to 77 wins in her career with multiple district and regional titles and an appearance in the semifinals of the state tournament her senior season. In her senior campaign, she earned Class 2A District 3 MVP, Class 2A All-State and All-Region honors as well as being named a Class 2A Fastpitch Semifinalist and Oklahoma Native All-State selection.
