KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas City Women’s Basketball opened the 2022-23 season on a high note, running past Westminster, 91-49. E’lease Stafford (Navajo) scored 18 points in her Roo-debut and pulled down 9 rebounds.

- 1Q / 6-0 | It took less than a minute for the Roos to jump out to a six-point lead following an opening basket by E’Lease Stafford, then back-to-back steal and scores by Sanaa’ St. Andre and Rain Green. A five-point run by the Blue Jays would bring them back into the game.
- 1Q / 19-16 | After a Westminster miss with less than 10 seconds on the clock, Dani Winslow pulled down the rebound and found Green, who drove the middle of the court and hit a floater from the free throw line as time expired.
- 2Q / 24-16 | The Roos opened the second quarter on a five-point run, capped by a second chance bucket by Sanaa’ St. Andre, pulling down a RaVon Nero miss and going right back up for her second basket of the day.
- 2Q / 35-25 | Following an offensive rebound by Winslow, Stafford used a screen from Jocelyn Ewell to drive the left side of the basket and pull up for a jump shot, extending KC’s lead out to 10.

- KC’s 42-point final margin of victory is the largest by the Roos since a 93-44 win over Baker on Dec. 8 of last season.
- The Roos went for 33 field goals, their first time over 30 since knocking down 32 at Western Illinois on Feb. 5, 2022.
