KANSAS CITY Mo. – Kansas City Women’s Basketball (4-11, 0-4 Summit) dropped a hard-fought battle to Omaha (6-7, 1-1 Summit) this afternoon by a score of 75-64. E’Lease Stafford led the way in scoring with 19 and Machia Mullens lead the team on the boards with 11.
Kansas City went shot-for-shot in the first half with Omaha, winning the first quarter 19-16 and only trailing 32-31 at halftime. However, Omaha would shoot 72.7% in the third quarter and outscore Kansas City 27-17 to distance themselves heading into the final period.
The Roos would go on a 7-0 run late in the fourth quarter to cut the Omaha lead to just five, but the Mavs would respond with a 7-1 run to put the Roos’ rally to rest.
