KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas City Women’s Basketball (6-13, 2-6 Summit) used a dominant second half performance to beat North Dakota (11-7, 4-4 Summit), 78-67. E’Lease Stafford led the Roos in scoring with 17 points on 3-of-6 shooting from three. Machia Mullens was ferocious on the glass, grabbing 18 rebounds, including four offensive boards.
It was a back-and-forth battle throughout the first half, with North Dakota taking a one-point lead into the locker room, however, the Roos came out firing in the third quarter, outscoring North Dakota 24-14. The Roos would shoot 50% from the field and 66.7% from downtown to propel them to a nine-point advantage entering the final quarter.
Like the third quarter, the Roos lit it up shooting wise in the fourth quarter, shooting 50% from the field and 11-of-12 from the free throw line. Kansas City would go on to outscore UND by 13 in the second half to earn their second conference win of the year.
