Esley Thorton (MHA Nation) Eager to Take Field in Top 5 Matchup against Montana

North Dakota State will host the University of Montana this Saturday in an FCS showdown at Gate City Bank Field.

“It’s always a big opportunity to go against the top dog,” said senior linebacker Esley Thorton of the MHA Tribal Nation. “Just to see where you compare. To beat a team like that, it’s a lot of satisfaction for us.”

The Grizzlies are ranked number three in the latest coaches poll, number four in the Sports Network poll.

The two teams haven’t met since 2003, when NDSU – as a member of Division II – beat the Griz in Missoula.

“I know every one is gonna be foaming at the mouth to finally get Montana in here. I expect this to be the loudest that (the Fargodome) has ever been,” said junior quarterback Carson Wentz.

Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
