NORFOLK, Va. – For the second week in a row, three Howard volleyball players picked up weekly honors from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), as announced on Monday. Junior Khaila Donaldson was selected as Player of the Week while sophomore Tamia Dockery (Navajo) earned Setter of the Week and senior Morgan Marlbrough nabbed Defensive Specialist of the Week.
It is the fifth time this season that Dockery and Marlbrough have garnered weekly recognition and the fourth for Donaldson.
Donaldson cemented her place in the record books when she became the all-time program leader with 1,146 kills. She averaged 16.5 kills per match and 4.71 kills per set in a pair of wins over Maryland Eastern Shore and Delaware State.
Dockery compiled 81 assists, 23 digs and seven kills against the Hawks and Hornets. She posted a double-double of 53 assists and 16 digs in the four-set victory over UMES.
Marlbrough finished with weekend with 4.85 digs per set and 17.0 digs per match in two victories. She tallied a match-high 22 digs against UMES. Marlbrough helped the Bison hold UMES to a .174 hitting percentage. The team also stifled the Hornets, who hit .071.
Howard is back in action on Friday, Oct. 28 when it welcomes Norfolk State to Burr Gym. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
