Gabby Lemieux (Shoshone/Paiute), heads to LPBA Qualifying school this week. The 72-hole event that features 340 participants and serves as the first step to LPGA membership.
The initial stage features members of the Symetra Tour as well as the top amateurs from across the world. The entire field will be cut to roughly 130 players following Saturday’s third round. All players who complete 54 holes will receive Symetra Tour status for the 2019 season.
The top 60 players and ties at the conclusion of 72 holes will move on to the second stage of qualifying on Oct. 13-18 at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Florida. From there, the top 15-25 players and ties will then advance to the Q-Series.
The Q-Series will take place Oct. 22-Nov 3 at Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, North Carolina, where the top 45 players and ties will receive LPGA membership for 2019. Lemieux advanced to the second stage of qualifying a year ago and most recently made her LPGA debut at the Thornberry Creek Classic in early July.
