Native American golfer Gene Webster, Jr., took 5th place at a one-day qualifying event held at Temecula, California’s Cross Creek Golf Club this past week for the National Pro Tour’s Major Championship the Windy City Open to be held June 26th-29th at the Bolingbrook Golf Club in Bolingbrook, Illinois.
Webster shot a round of (74) to secure the 5th place spot by himself. The top 15 finishers were assured a spot for the National Pro Tour’s first major championship of the season later this month.
Webster said “(My) ball striking was decent today, struggled with the putter, but still qualified for my first major this year…”.
Webster recently missed the cut at the last event on the NPT in Scottsdale, Arizona.
