GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) — The Green Bay women’s basketball team honored its senior trio of Laken James, Carly Mohns and Jen Wellnitz on Saturday afternoon at the Kress Center in front of 2,486 fans, amassing a season high in points scored to defeat Detroit Mercy, 82-37, and move to 13-3 in Horizon League play.
Four members of the Phoenix squad reached double-digit scoring numbers in the pairing, with redshirt junior Mackenzie Wolf leading the way with a career-high 15 points on a nearly perfect performance from the field at 6-for-7. Wolf also corralled four rebounds and shot 75% (3-4) from the charity stripe in 18 minutes. Madison Wolf joined her sister in double digits with 12 points and also displayed an impressive shooting performance, finishing 4-of-5 while collecting seven rebounds in 19 minutes.
Hailey Oskey (Onieda Nation) scored 12 points and James (11 points) rounded out GB’s double-digit scorers as the Phoenix shot above 50% from the floor for the sixth time this season. The Phoenix outscored the Titans in every quarter of the game, limiting the visitors to single digits in two quarters as Green Bay went on to secure a convincing 82-37 victory.
