A season-high scoring performance has led Haskell Indian Nations University (Kansas) sophomore guard Mahpiya Irving to be named the Continental Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
The Mayetta, Kansas, native averaged 17.5 points across two games last week to lead the Indians’ offense. She scored 29 points on 10-of-17 shooting, while making four of her seven 3-point field goals in a 92-78 win against Viterbo University (Wisconsin) on Saturday.
Irving also grabbed eight rebounds in a loss at St. Ambrose University (Iowa) last Wednesday.
She leads Haskell Indian Nations by averaging 15.3 points per game this season.
